Chris Pelt and Jerry Lucas bought a 50-year-old company infrastructure, with the
intent of bringing it up to 2026 technology and standards, setting us apart from our
competitors.

Prior to the acquisition, Jerry Lucas (CEO) and Brad Pate (President) served as
consultants to the acquired legacy company. Their objective in acquiring the company’s
assets was clear: build a new security firm leveraging an established client base and
workforce while fundamentally modernizing how security services are delivered.
From the outset, the mission was to create a technology-driven security company
serving Mid-South residential communities, healthcare facilities, retail centers,
commercial properties, and industrial operations.

During their consultancy, it became evident that traditional “Boots on the Ground”
security models were no longer sufficient.  Many firms in the region rely heavily on the
human element. Meanwhile, the criminal environment and risk landscape in the
Mid-South had evolved — yet many providers continued operating under decades-old
practices.

Vanguard Security was founded to close that gap.

Chris Pelt, Chairman of the Board and a seasoned Memphis businessman, invested with
a shared vision: deliver a proactive, technology-enabled approach that better aligns
with today’s security realities and client expectations.

That transformation began with the development and implementation of the “Iron Halo” platform. While other firms have experimented with isolated components of similar
systems, they ultimately returned to the traditional “warm body” model. Vanguard
chose a different path.

We integrate modern technology to direct officer activity, increase accountability, and
strengthen measurable security outcomes. We recognize that criminal activity will
